Our Wellbeing Impacts Student Outcomes.
The research also points toward clear benefits of teacher well-being. In a large international review, more than 80 percent of studies found that higher teacher well-being is linked to better student learning and achievement. (Source)

Prioritizing Wellness
Pays Off.
Numerous studies exploring teacher well-being (like this one) indicate that self-care practices can play a meaningful role in buffering against the risk factors that contribute to burnout, supporting long-term engagement and resilience.

We All Need Support Sometimes.
That's exactly why I founded the Happy While Teaching Movement - to share practical and simple tools to help you prioritize your wellbeing and and thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.

My Story
My journey toward wellbeing began with a wake-up call from the Universe. One stressful day, with a “to do” list a mile long, papers to grade and struggling students on my mind, I nearly walked into oncoming traffic because I was not fully present in the moment. Suddenly, I was snapped out of my mental fog with a flood of cortisol pulsing through my body. I realized that if didn’t do something to address my stress, I might not be so lucky next time.
That crisis sparked a 25-year wellness journey. A year later, I became a certified yoga instructor to deepen my practice and share it with my students. Since then, I’ve integrated regular meditation into my life and became a certified life coach.
I’ve learned that teacher wellness isn’t a "one-and-done" goal; it’s a continuous rededication to ourselves, especially when life knocks us out of rhythm. Following my second Master’s capstone on teacher burnout, I felt a deep calling to help other educators prioritize their health. My podcast, workbook, courses, and community exist for one reason: to empower you to become a happy, balanced, and truly healthy educator. We owe it to ourselves, our students, and our community to show up as the very best version of ourselves.
